Apple Sketch 1

Early in 2016 I wanted to get back to my art after many years of not really doing anything. I started with just sketching things around the house, things like tools and fruit. This was all just for practice. “Apple Sketch 1” is the most successful of the fruit drawings. Drawn from life with a charcoal pencil on ordinary sketch paper. I only save the sketches I feel are the best, making this one of the rare sketches I have kept. I call it number 1 because I would like to do more studies of apples. But I don’t consider these works of art, just studies to practice my drawing skills.
